DCEC Programs
"Lifelong learning, literacy, upgrading,
enrichment and diploma programs."
Public School Program
- The Digby Community Education Centre offers a Grade 12 Diploma through studies
of Grade 10 to 12 courses provided by the Tri-County Regional School Board.
- You can also take individual credits for upgrading purposes.
Basic Literacy Programs
- The Digby Community Education Centre offers basic literacy programs with your
specific goals in mind. Learners work at their own pace, and receive individual
attention from instructors who have been trained in teaching adult learners. The
Level 1,2 and 3 Programs prepare the learner to proceed to the Level 4 Adult
Diploma Program.
Adult Learning Program
- High School Diplomas can be obtained through the Adult Learning Program. The
Level 4 achievement is a 12 credit diploma program, offered at the education centre
through Nova Scotia Community College that recognizes the skills you have gained
before you became an adult learner.
- Portfolio classes create an opportunity for the adult learners to recognize their
own previous life experiences and are an integral part of the Level 4 program.
Combination Diplomas
- The Digby Community Education Centre offers learners the unique opportunity to
achieve their Diplomas with a combination of credits from the Grade 12 and Level 4
Adult Learning Program. Flexibility can be a key to the success of our students!
-

diploma though writing the provincial GED exams.
Technical and Enrichment Courses
- The Digby Community Centre offers a variety of weekend and evening courses, including
